Most beautiful village in Switzerland

A jewel of Alpine architecture

Nestled at an altitude of nearly 1,000 meters, Rougemont charms visitors with its exceptionally authentic architectural heritage. As you stroll through its narrow streets, you will discover splendid carved wooden chalets, true masterpieces of folk art. Some date back more than 400 years and feature engravings, paintings, flowers, and inscriptions that tell the story of life in times gone by.

At the entrance to the village stand two iconic monuments, built by the monks of Cluny: the 16th-century castle and the superb 11th-century Romanesque church, known for its remarkable stained glass windows.
