La Videmanette Via Ferrata, Route 2

Designed for confident climbers, Route 2 of the La Videmanette via ferrata offers a more challenging ascent to the Rübli, featuring steep sections, airy passages and outstanding views over the Pays-d’Enhaut.

The start of the via ferrata is located just a five-minute walk from the top station of the Rougemont-La Videmanette cable car. Route 2 is a more athletic alternative to Route 1 and is ideal for climbers who are comfortable with exposed terrain and vertical sections.
The first section is shared with Routes 1 and 2. It begins with an easy but steep climbing section, including a chimney and a narrow ledge without major difficulties. Route 2 then branches off and becomes more demanding, featuring a 75° wall and a more exposed section that provides exciting climbing sensations.
The final part rejoins Route 1 and continues on foot to the summit of the Rübli at 2,285 m. At the top, climbers are rewarded with spectacular views over the surrounding peaks and the Pays-d’Enhaut. The descent follows Route 1.
