Winter walk | Rougemont – Saanen

Starting in the charming village of Rougemont, this winter walk gently leads you to Saanen along the Sarine River. From your very first steps, you will be captivated by the beautifully carved wooden chalets, some of which are over a hundred years old. As you stroll down the main street towards the castle, the authentic atmosphere of the Pays-d’Enhaut surrounds you.

From the La Videmanette ski lift departure point, a wide groomed path guides you into a peaceful natural setting. The trail follows the river through bright clearings and snow-covered forests. At the hamlet of Le Vanel, you cross the famous Röstigraben, the cultural boundary between French- and German-speaking Switzerland. The route then continues through the forest to the historic centre of Saanen, whose 15th- to 18th-century chalets are considered among the most beautiful in the region. A perfect winter escape to slow down and breathe deeply.
