This scenic loop is perfect for families and casual riders alike. Starting from Château-d’Œx, the route winds gently through meadows and woodlands, following the soothing sounds of the Sarine River. Along the way, you’ll pass by the outdoor pool of Le Berceau, an ideal refreshment stop on warm summer days.
As you reach La Rosette, pause and take in the breathtaking panorama: from Pointe de Cray to Vanil Carré, the surrounding peaks offer a stunning natural backdrop. Take a deep breath—this is what mountain magic feels like.
The trail then curves back, descending softly through shaded forests and open countryside. For a memorable finish, cross the Turrian Bridge, the oldest suspension bridge in French-speaking Switzerland, offering both heritage and charm before guiding you back to your starting point.
<p><strong>General information</strong></p> <p>This easy to intermediate route is suitable for families and for riders with previous mountain biking experience. The trail is signposted on site with official MTB signage. The route crosses alpine pastures and follows gravel paths, paved roads and forest sections. Several picnic areas are located along the way. The route is also suitable for gravel bikes. Mountain bikes can be rented from sports shops in the village, including Planète Sport and TBsport. An e-bike charging station is available at the Château-d’Œx Tourist Office.</p> <p><strong>Parking & transport</strong></p> <p>Cars can be parked in the paid village car park as well as in the paid COOP car park. The starting point of the route is located approximately two minutes by bike from Château-d’Œx railway station.</p>
