This autumn, explore the streets of Château-d’Œx on a fun pumpkin hunt. Riddles, clues and decorated shop windows make this a great family activity in the heart of the village.

Pumpkin Hunt

In autumn, Château-d’Œx turns into a playground for young and old with a pumpkin hunt through the village streets. It’s a fun family activity and a wonderful way to enjoy the colours of the season.

Your adventure begins at the Tourist Office, where you can collect your game booklet. Then follow the trail through the village, keep a close eye on the shop windows and solve the different visual puzzles along the way.

At each stage, you’ll collect clues in the form of numbers, letters or symbols. Once you have gathered them all, they will help you solve the final puzzle and complete your mission.

After completing the trail, return to the Tourist Office to have your answers checked and collect your reward.

A playful adventure full of surprises and a great way to discover Château-d’Œx from a different perspective this autumn.

Costume competition

Why not come in costume? Put on your most beautiful, original or spooky outfit and take part in the Pumpkin Hunt costume competition!

Take a photo at the designated station with the pumpkin drawing, then send it along with your contact details (first name, last name and postal address) to info@pays-denhaut.ch

Three participants will be selected, with each winning a wonderful family experience in the Pays-d’Enhaut: a snow and discovery day with 2 adult and 2 child admissions to the ice rink and snow garden, a day at the International Balloon Festival with 2 adult admissions and a voucher for the shop, or a day at Espace Ballon with 2 adult and 2 child admissions and a voucher for the souvenir shop.

After the Pumpkin Hunt, make the most of your time in Château-d’Œx and continue your Halloween-themed family day in the village.

Shop windows in autumn colours

Keep your eyes open as you stroll through the village! Local shops are joining in the fun too, decorating their windows especially for the occasion.

A tasty break

At La Marendaz, treat yourself to delicious pumpkin-shaped biscuits.
At the Hôtel de Ville, the whole family can enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring pumpkin soup with croutons, cheese and bread, corn, carrot and green salads, as well as a dessert of the day inspired by the Pumpkin Hunt.
At the Crêperie du Pays-d'Enhaut, autumn also comes to the table with a seasonal crêpe specially created for the occasion.
At the Restaurant de l’Ermitage, autumn flavours also take centre stage with a special Pumpkin Hunt menu.
At La Petite Boulangerie – Rebecca Specht, enjoy a sweet pumpkin-inspired treat specially created for the occasion.

Espace Ballon is getting into the Halloween spirit too! Explore the interactive exhibition and enjoy an immersive experience with the 4D flight.

On sunny days, head to P’tit Golf and the nearby playground from 1.00 pm. If it rains, Bowling du Parc opens from 2.00 pm.

A musical break for little ones

As part of the Festival Le Bois qui Chante, head to Cinéma Éden on Wednesday 14 October at 3.30 pm for the baby concert “Les quatre saisons de Framboise et Confiture”.

A musical experience specially designed for children aged 0 to 6.

Access by public transport Château-d’Œx can be reached by train on the MOB railway line from Montreux or Zweisimmen, as well as by TPC bus from Aigle via the Col des Mosses. Get off at “Château-d’Œx Railway Station”.
