L’Étambeau in Heidi’s Time

From 27 June to 30 August 2026, Maison de l’Étambeau invites you to discover Heidi, her friends and everyday life in the past in a historic house in Château-d’Œx.

This summer, step inside Maison de l’Étambeau and enter Heidi’s gentle mountain world. Through a setting inspired by life in 1880, the exhibition “L’Étambeau au temps de Heidi” introduces you to the Alm-Uncle, Clara, Peter and his grandmother. Classroom, kitchen, bedroom, everyday objects, traditional laundry and goats in the distance all tell the story of a time when life followed the rhythm of the seasons and the alpine pastures.
Designed for adults as well as families, the exhibition also offers a playful experience with the treasure hunt “In Heidi’s Footsteps” and a competition. Several craftswomen will also be presenting their know-how, from woven rugs and dolls to pottery, painting, paper cut-outs and silhouettes. A lively, poetic interlude in the heart of the Pays-d’Enhaut’s heritage.
