Introduction to Plant Dyeing

In L’Étivaz, learn the art of natural dyeing in a garden surrounded by nature. Plant gathering, colour extraction and textile creation come together in this immersive experience.

Spend a day discovering the fascinating world of natural dyeing and the colours that nature can provide. Set in the peaceful surroundings of the Torneresse Valley in L’Étivaz, this workshop offers a hands-on introduction to an ancestral craft inspired by the plant world.

Throughout the day, participants will learn how to identify and gather dye plants, extract natural pigments and prepare textile fibres for dyeing. The main stages of the dyeing process will be explored through practical activities suitable for beginners.

Guided throughout the workshop, you will create your own naturally dyed silk square using colours extracted from plants. A creative, sensory and inspiring experience that offers a unique way to connect with nature.
