Exhibition “Journey into Paper Cutting” by Stéphanie Miguet

From 12 July to 1 November 2026, Stéphanie Miguet takes over the Musée du Pays-d’Enhaut and Swiss Centre for Paper Cutting with an exhibition that brings her contemporary creations into dialogue with the museum’s historical collections.

With “Journey into Paper Cutting”, Stéphanie Miguet returns to the place where her story with paper cutting began. In 2006, a first visit to the museum and the discovery of works by masters such as Jean-Jacques Hauswirth and Louis Saugy proved to be a revelation. Paper cutting then became her preferred means of artistic expression.

Twenty years later, the artist returns to Château-d’Œx with a solo exhibition revealing a world where paper becomes lace, storytelling and poetry. Her work explores both intimate themes and the imagination while offering a resolutely contemporary interpretation of this traditional art form.

The exhibition also draws on an artistic residency at the museum during summer 2025. Inspired by encounters with local residents and craftspeople, as well as the landscapes of the Pays-d’Enhaut, Stéphanie Miguet has created a journey through the permanent collections. Her works enter into dialogue with historic tools, traditional furniture and objects from pastoral life, creating a sensitive connection between heritage and contemporary art.
