August 1st Swiss National Day in Rougemont
<p>Between mountain peaks and local traditions, Rougemont celebrates Swiss National Day with activities on La Videmanette, live music, a welcome aperitif, a lantern parade, the lighting of the Rübli and a traditional bonfire.</p>
In Rougemont, Swiss National Day is celebrated between mountain landscapes, local traditions and a strong village spirit. The festivities begin on La Videmanette, where celebrations take place from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. The cable car ride is offered by the Municipality of Rougemont, while Magic Pass holders are kindly requested to present their pass. A welcome drink is offered by BDG at the cable car departure station before visitors enjoy food and live music at the Bergrestaurant La Videmanette.
From 6:00 pm onwards, the celebrations continue in front of the Grande Salle in Rougemont. A welcome aperitif offered by Pays-d’Enhaut Région opens the evening, followed by a convivial gathering around the bar, grilled specialties and roast beef prepared by the Rougemont Military Band. Children's activities, flag throwers and alphorn performances set the tone before live music by Benjee’s Oergeli from 7:00 pm.
At 8:30 pm, the official ceremony takes place with the participation of the Rougemont Military Band. At 9:00 pm, the traditional lantern parade lights up the village streets before the illumination of the Rübli and the patriotic bonfire on the football field at nightfall.
